The Framatic 5 x 7 Modern Black Frame is of a unique construction we call "seamless". First, a panel of 1/4" thick MDF (a composite wood board) has the center cut out to create the 1" face of the frame. Since the frame has not been made from cut and joined lengths of molding, there are no joints at the corners. Next, a second wooden frame is attached to the back of the MDF to create the space for the glass, matting, etc, and our easy-to-use "pivot clip" back.

The frame is then flawlessly finished with a lacquer finish. The result is an unelaborated frame of elegant simplicity, which, like all Framatic frames, is designed to dramatize but not compete with the artwork installed in it.

The frames are designed to hang from holes in the clips found on the back (the clips are permanently riveted to the 1/8" hardboard that forms the back)

The Framatic 7 x 9 Cirrus Black Aluminum Frame with a 4 x 6 Single Mat is a shallow (1/2" deep) shadowbox frame. The aluminum molding is 1 3/16" deep with a 1/4" wide face and is available in three anodized, satin finish colors: black, light bronze and silver. It comes completely ready to use, with a warm white, 3/16" archival foam-core backing, clear glass that has had the sharp edges ground smooth, and removable, acid-free, 1/4" thick mounting tabs. Smaller sizes include an easel for table top use.

The Cirrus frame, like the Fineline frame, is uniquely easy to use thanks to Framatic’s patented Framlok corner joining system.

Cirrus can be used to frame a three-dimensional object but it is especially useful for "floating" an image. This is a presentation where the image is placed against the backing with an allowance for space around the image not covered by either frame or mat. Since the glass does not touch the image, a mat is not required for conservation, and the edges of the image are left exposed. This adds a dimension to framing where the media-- for example, a deckle edged piece of paper-- becomes an object within the frame as well as the surface that holds the image.

To add to the "floating" effect, the Cirrus frames include acid free, 1/4" thick foam adhesive backed tabs. The tabs securely, yet removable, mount an image to the backing. Thus creating a "shadow line"—a separation between the image and the backing-- that adds further dimension to your framing.

Cirrus frame sizes are created with the "floating" of the "suggested image". The frame sizes shown leave, in most cases, have an even 1” border around the "suggested image" sizes.

The Framatic Bella Frame 4X4 (Black) is a square beaded pattern typically found as only one element of the ornate decoration on many antique wooden frames has been quoted on the face of a simple, narrow aluminium molding (without the decoration, the frame would be similar to our “Tempo” product.)

The hallmark of Framatic frames is their simplicity of design and function. This is sometimes taken to mean strictly contemporary styling. However, Framatic’s Bella frame proves that an equally simple and functional frame can still have a more decorative touch.

We have developed a unique application technology that allows us to combine the structural strength of an aluminum molding with the decorative possibilities usually available only with wood. The advantage is that a molding with a very narrow face, which would not be strong enough in wood, can be made into frames as large as 20” x 24”, without sacrificing the super-easy-to-use feature of all Framatic ready-made frames.

Thus, the Bella frame combines the simplicity and functional aesthetic of other Framatic products but with subtly glamorous detailing. The look can soften contemporary artwork and photography, or be a more restrained alternative to an ornate decorative frame. Bella frames fit easily into both traditional and contemporary décor.

Functionally, the frame is super easy-to-use. With our Pivot-lok back system, artwork can be installed in seconds. The frame is offered in versions with an acid-free white with white core mat or without mats, but will accommodate more than 1/4” of depth, allowing for multiple mats or dimensional artwork.

Cirrus can be used to frame a three-dimensional object but it is especially useful for "floating" an image. This is a presentation where the image is placed against the backing with an allowance for space around the image not covered by either frame or mat. Since the glass does not touch the image, a mat is not required for conservation, and the edges of the image are left exposed. This adds a dimension to framing where the media-- for example, a deckle edged piece of paper-- becomes an object within the frame as well as the surface that holds the image.

To add to the "floating" effect, the Cirrus frames include acid free, 1/4" thick foam adhesive backed tabs. The tabs securely, yet removably, mount an image to the backing. Thus creating a "shadow line"—a separation between the image and the backing-- that adds further dimension to your framing.

Cirrus frame sizes are created with the "floating" of the "suggested image". The frame sizes shown leave, in most cases, have an even 1” border around the "suggested image" sizes.

First, a panel of 1/4" thick MDF (a composite wood board) has the center cut out to create the face of the frame. Since the frame has not been made from cut and joined lengths of molding, there are no joints at the corners. Next, a second wooden frame is attached to the back of the MDF to create the space for the glass, matting, etc, and our easy-to-use “pivot clip” back.
