The Sea & Sea MDX-7D UW Housing for Canon EOS 7D Flat Port Package W/YS-01 Strobe takes you everywhere under the water for photography with your EOS 7D with a housing, flat port, one strobe, mounting arm, and fiber optic cable. It is machined from solid aluminum for a lightweight, durable housing, and delivers performance, ergonomics and precision, with easy access to all camera controls.

A standard NX flat port for macro photography is included. The port lock system prevents an attached port from loosening while in use. Use an optional TTL converter for TTL flash control with the wired-for-TTL 5-pin connector or use the 2-pin connector for manual strobe control.

The single is a compact slave strobe that can be used for wide-angle or macro photography. With included YS-01 strobe circular beam angle of 100 x 100 Degrees and a guide number of up to 20 it is the perfect strobe for small compact cameras or DSLRs. It is best to connect the strobe to the housing with the included fiber optic cable. For finer lighting control it is best to shoot in manual mode. With the included Sea Arm VII set, it's easy to position the light away from the camera for best effect. The YS-01 has a bright 1W LED target light, that's bright enough to use as a dive light on night dives.

An external flash is your most important accessory. The ocean is one big blue filter. As you descend, the reds and oranges quickly become muted shades of blue and gray. Using a color corrected strobe light will bring back your subject's natural color.

Note: Requires a Lens Port to match the specific lens on the SLR camera.

The YS-D1 Strobe sets a new standard for underwater strobes. From subtle light output as low as guide number 1 to a maximum power of guide number 32, control of underwater lighting has become effortless with the YS-D1.

Revising the algorithms used for the DS-TTL system, the YS-D1 employs a totally new slave TTL system. The strobe can adjust the interval between the pre flash and the primary flash in order to be compatible with a wide-variety of cameras, if not all, on the market today. The strobe is equipped with DS-TTL ll mode which is more responsive, more precise and more reliable. The DS-TTL ll enables a variety of strobe sync photography such as slave TTL and slave manual (11 steps) with compact or digital SLR cameras. When used with a digital SLR camera in housing, the strobe can also be connected with a conventional sync cord and through a YS Converter for TTL strobe photography. In a clear water environment, two YS-D1 strobes in DS-TTL ll mode provide perfect lighting. When you would like to emphasize contrast, setting the main strobe in DS-TTL II mode and the secondary strobe in manual mode (11 steps) offers flexibility without limiting control. When underwater visibility is poor, two YS-D1’s set to manual mode may produce the best images.
