The Fuji X-E1 Digital Camera (Silver) w/18-55mm lens is the latest Fujifilm mirrorless camera and comes bundled with Fuji's first X-mount zoom lens. With a classic design, magnesium alloy build and completely state-of-the-art digital technology, the XE-1 will soon be a favorite among all levels of photographers.
The X-E1's sensor adopts the same high-performance 16M X-Trans CMOS found in the X Series flagship X-Pro1 model. Featuring an originally developed color filter array with a highly random pixel arrangement, its X-Trans CMOS sensor eliminates the need for an optical low-pass filter, which is used in conventional systems to inhibit moiré at the expense of resolution. The innovative array lets the X-Trans CMOS sensor capture unfiltered light from the lens and produce unprecedented resolution. The unique random arrangement of the color filter array is also highly effective in enhancing noise separation in high-sensitivity photography. Another advantage of the large APS-C sensor is the ability to create a beautiful “bokeh” effect - the aesthetic out-of-focus effect created when shooting with a shallow depth of field.
The XE1 features a large APS-C sensor and with the elimination of an optical low-pass filter, Fujifilm's X-Trans CMOS takes advantage of its high-sensitivity performance to deliver a standard range up to ISO6400. No matter when or where the shutter opportunity arises, you can depend on its high-sensitivity image quality to defeat blur caused by camera shake or subject motion. The X-E1's low-light capabilities are guaranteed to capture the moment beautifully.

Myron H. from ROUND ROCK, TX:
Very nice camera for beginners or advanced users. Focusing is fast and accurate with the 18-55mm zoom, except in very low light, when manual focus is needed. Image quality is superb, with a lot of detail in images. I shoot JPG and these files look great. The film simulation profiles are all nicely balanced for different types of shooting. Velvia gives great rich colors, while Provia and Astia is more natural. Pro Neg is also very nice for landscapes photos. The "kit lens" is definitely a high quality lens, unlike the cheap ones from other manufacturers. Zoom, aperture, and focus rings are all very smooth. Battery life seems fine, can get about 250-300 jpg photos per charge. Video mode is also pretty good, but is limited to 24fps 1080p. If you slow pan or shoot static shots, your video will remain good quality. Great travel camera to take anywhere with you.
