Web Pricing - Why are the prices on this web site different from those in your stores?
Our stores are staffed with a wide variety of product specialists and support staff, each of whom make an effort to be responsive and pleasant to deal with. We're also able to provide a customer with any item from our inventory to inspect and test. The cost of this customer service is an increased overhead for our in-store prices, to pay for the store space, the training of our employees, and other considerations not present online. We're happy to offer reduced prices online and hope that you will be satisfied with your purchase no matter where you decide to buy.
Circular Polarizer - Light rays which are reflected by any surface become polarised and polarising filters are used to select which light rays enter your camara lens. PL (Linear Polarising) and PL-CIR (Circular Polarising) filters have the same effect, but it is important that you choose the correct version for your camera. They allow you to remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water, glass etc. They also enable colors to become more saturated and appear clearer, with better contrast. This effect is often used to increase the contrast and saturation in blue skies and white clouds. HOYA's polarising filters do not affect the overall color balance of a shot.
These popular filters are renowned for their ability to minimise reflection at the filter surfaces which reduces flare and ghosting. The result is an average light transmission of over 97%, giving sharp contrast and well balanced color. HOYA HMC filters are recommended for enhancing the performance of today's multicoated lenses.

Christopher B. from W MIDDLESEX, PA:
The polarizing effects of the lens are great, especially when taking scenery shots with a lot of sky or pictures with bodies of water in the background. It’s just like when looking at something and then putting a pair of polarized sunglasses on, HUGE difference. But for $95 it depends if it is worth it for you.
Also, make sure the lens you are getting it for doesn’t have a rotating bezel for focusing or you will have to constantly adjust your filter.
It is threaded so other filters can be attached to the front of it, and it fits easily onto the front of my UV filter which I use mostly to protect the lens itself.
