Web Pricing - Why are the prices on this web site different from those in your stores?
Our stores are staffed with a wide variety of product specialists and support staff, each of whom make an effort to be responsive and pleasant to deal with. We're also able to provide a customer with any item from our inventory to inspect and test. The cost of this customer service is an increased overhead for our in-store prices, to pay for the store space, the training of our employees, and other considerations not present online. We're happy to offer reduced prices online and hope that you will be satisfied with your purchase no matter where you decide to buy.

The Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Autofocus Lens is the lightest EF lens of all at a mere 4.6 oz. (130g). Compact and high-performance, standard lens. Its Gaussian optics provide sharp delineation from near to far focusing distances. The color balance is excellent for a standard lens.
A medium telephoto lens with a large aperture brings the subject closer, creates excellent background blur, gives a longer flash range, and affords a faster shutter speed to freeze the action. A standard zoom lens, with its natural angle of view and perspective, captures the subject plainly, with no special effects. However, you can use standard lenses in creative ways by varying the subject distance, aperture, and angle.
Among 35mm SLR cameras, the 50mm lens provides the closest representation to our normal perspective
This lens is usually considered the standard lens because it is reasonably fast and sees pretty much what the eye sees
Strongly recommended for most general-purpose photography
Designed exclusively for use with Canon SLR cameras

R. from , :
pros: great image quality, super fast f/1.8, lightweight (great for travel), crazy affordable
cons: plastic lens mount, can't manually focus without switching off autofocus, feels cheap, autofocus motor is loud
bottom line: The image quality is great and because the price is so affordable, I can forgive the other shortcomings which do not impact the image quality.
