It's hot out there!
We are smack in the middle of summer and this heat is not letting up. However, it's also the ideal season for getting out, traveling, and getting a lot of amazing shots. While one can't control the weather, one can consider a few ways to not only making sure gear is kept out of its temperature danger zone; but, to also beat the heat while on a job or photographing for fun.
Here are our top five ways photographers can beat the heat.
When it comes to gear...
- Travel light: It's already hot. There is no need to add to the odds of breaking a sweat by adding a bunch of heavy gear.
- Where's the lens cap?: When not in use, make sure your lens is covered and out of the sun.
- Watch out for condensation: Condensation is a big tech no-no.
- Invest in an insulated camera bag: Save up to keep your expensive gear nice and cool.
- Consult the manual - Know your temperature limits!
- Regular Housekeeping: Clean cameras and lenses clean, and don't forget to store batteries separately.
