The tech world has three words for you: Viva Las Vegas!
CES 2017, a tech enthusiasts dream destination, kicked off today the Las Vegas and will be held through January 8th. While there are robots that will give you a run for your money at a game of chess, connected cars, and some serious gaming laptops, the Samy's Camera team is here to get the scoop on the latest and greatest in photo and video innovation. And, there have been some exciting announcements from major industry players.
For the Love of Film
Kodak's announcement was short and sweet: Ektachrome is back.
Ektachrome, the go-to film for cinematographers due to its extremely fine grain and contrasts, was discontinued in 2012.
“It is such a privilege to reintroduce KODAK EKTRACHROME Film to the cinematography community,” stated Steven Overman, Kodak’s chief marketing officer and president of the Consumer and Film Division, in the company's official press release. “We are seeing a broad resurgence of excitement about capturing images on film. Kodak is committed to continuing to manufacture film as an irreplaceable medium for image creators to capture their artistic vision. We are proud to help bring back this classic.”
