It has been a few months since our first drone blog post DJI Phantom 4 – First Flight. The Phantom 4 continues to perform well under some pretty harsh conditions. We often subject it to long bumpy boat rides and salty sea air. It has even traveled to Mexico with us twice! We almost always launch and retrieve it from small boats and we have discovered a few additional accessories that make this type of flying safer and easier. Prop guards add a lot of protection for both you, other boat passengers and the drone. A Hoodman sun shade makes it easier to see the screen and a neck strap makes handling the controls much nicer.
In addition to the already amazing Phantom 4, DJI has recently released the Phantom 4 Pro with a 1-inch 20MP Exmor R CMOS sensor and capable of capturing 4K video at 60FPS! We can’t wait to try out that new camera!
