Free Canon Classes at PhotoCon LA

Canon LogoCanon has released details of their lineup of free Canon classes and seminars that will be available to PhotoCon LA attendees.  From Canon Photo to Canon Cinema and through to Canon Printers, the company will be offering an incredible number of free classes throughout both days of the event. Presented in celebration of the 40th anniversary of Samy's Camera, PhotoCon LA is set to take place on May 21st and May 22nd at The Reef in downtown Los Angeles.  Canon, along with over 50 other photo and video vendors, will be offering stupendous show-only special deals at,what is shaping up to be, the West Coast's photography and cinema event of the year.  PhotoCon LA tickets cost $10 for a 1 day pass or $15 for a 2 day pass. Kids under 12 go free with a ticketed adult. PhotoCon LA attendees will have access to a vast array of free photography and video related classes and seminars.  Canon are presenting the largest number of classes at the event. So many that they have taken over a whole classroom just for free Canon classes and are still offering hallmark speakers for the main PhotoCon LA stage. Sue BryceCanon Explorer of Light Sue Bryce has the honor of kicking off events on the premier Cloud Room stage on Saturday, May 21st. An acclaimed beauty and fashion photographer, Sue Bryce's passion for photographing all women is evident in her portrait style which challenges convention and has changed the face of portrait photography. Sunday, May 22nd the stage will open with wildlife photographer George D. Lepp.  Also a Canon Explorer of Light, Lepp is widely recognized for his dedication to sharing photographic and biological knowledge with other photographers though his seminars. He'll being doing just that as part of the free Canon classes offered at PhotoCon LA. George LeppTopics covered in the free Canon classes hosted in the dedicated Canon classroom are as diverse as technical aspects related to specific Canon Cameras to post-production techniques all the way to surf photography. Truly, something for everybody interested in photography and video. Confirmed free Canon classes for PhotoCon LA include: Planning for Post: Getting the most out of the C300 Mark II - Sponsored by Canon Cinema and presented by post-production specialist Jon Carr, the class will teach you all you need to know about using the Canon C300 Mark II for your next production.  During the class, Jon will do a live color correction demo of Canon Log 2 footage. Getting Your Images Ready For Print - RC Concepcion teaches this class sponsored by Canon Printers. An award-winning photographer, author and podcast host, RC will go over the step by step process needed to get your photos ready for the final print. The Creative Revelation - Canon Photo sponsors this class in which Joel Grimes will cover all aspects of the creative process from keeping with with the trends to overcoming your competition. Cameras + Aesthetics: Choosing the right gear for your film -  Not every film should be shot on the same camera. In this class sponsored by Canon Cinema, Eve M. Cohen will discuss why choosing the right gear is essential to the success of your project. Eve has filmed projects for VICE, CNN, MTV, A+E, Sundance, Lifetime and History. Techs N’ Specs: A Technical Introduction to the EOS C300 Mark II - Come join Product Trainer Loren Simons from the Canon Hollywood Professional Technology and Support Center as he gives a technical walk-through of the EOS C300 Mark II. This session is ideal for anyone interested in the EOS C300 Mark II and does not require a technical background, just a desire to learn. From Surf to Shore: Wave and Surf Photography with Zak Noyle - Join Zak Noyle, one of the best surf photographers in the world, for this free Canon class as he takes you on a deep dive into how he utilizes the Canon EOS technology in all of his adventures on land and in the sea. One Speedlite. Four Looks - In this one-hour class, commercial photographer Laura Tillinghast will demonstrate four distinct lighting looks using just one Canon Speedlite. Laura will also illustrate easy ways to improve skin tone, add sparkle to the eyes and get the best poses from your subject.
