So simple, so small and lightweight; but don’t be fooled. Small size matters here with this little powerhouse, the Nikon D5600.

If you are a two-camera shooter, you can carry one of these around with very little fatigue. With it’s 24 megapixels, I felt I could tackle any kind of assignment: landscape, food, portrait, weddings, social events, sports (5 frames per second), street, and even fine art shooting.

It was such a joy to use what is, basically, such an easy camera to navigate around…no fumbling. I knew my way around in just a couple of hours of shooting; something you want if you are in the midst of it all to capture the action. Even if you are new to using a real camera and moving up from your phone, it will be a fun transition.

If you like to experiment, there are so many art filters to just have fun. Even after all these years, I still want to have fun photographing.
You will be holding onto a camera with a the name NIKON that is so legendary. Many great photographers used Nikons in peace and in battle and documented our ever changing world.
This one has all that you expect today:
- A touch screen you can touch and take the photograph in Live View
- State of the art 24.2MP DX-Format CMOS Sensor with Exspeed 4 Image processor for those crisp, clean images you can blow up to beyond poster size.
- The Snapbridge Bluetooth and WiFi with NFC to transfer to your phone or tablet when on the go to upload to the cloud or your social media.
I did not try the video. I would guess it is excellent as all of today’s cameras are.
I must say, I did lean on the HDR feature a lot; but, I like all that detail in a very contrasty scene. You can tame most scenes with the D-Lighting feature. And, you also have an on board flash for those flash fill situations. What more could you ask for?
Look at my photographs…I had fun. I mean, I really had fun. And, all my examples were shot with the Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G lens.

One last thing: This baby with kit lens is quite affordable, considering you are getting features found on cameras 2 to 3Xs the cost of this one.
