Samy's Photo School NPPE Program Partner Named Top 75 Landscape Photography Blog

September 21, 2017  |  by Samy's Camera
Samy's Camera and Samy's Photo School is proud to announce that National Park Photography Expeditions, one of our education division's program partners, has been named as one of the Top 75 Landscape Photography Blogs by Feedspot [caption id="attachment_4890" align="aligncenter" width="640"] Source: http://bit.ly/2xU8oKO[/caption]

Samy’s Photo School partners with National Park Photographic Expeditions to provide our students with exceptional Landscape Master Classes in our nation’s most scenic national parks. Bob Killen and his staff of national park Artist in Residence instructors will help you access intuitive, reflective ways of working that will lead you to create great landscape images. These classes provide hands-on, mentored learning in the field and ample classroom time with your instructor to teach you a capture to post-production workflow (end-to-creative-end workflow) using Lightroom and Photoshop.

Our National Park programs include all local travel, instructor tuition, post-production classroom, course materials, post-class online support and meals in the field.  All you need to do is arrive with your camera and laptop, and away you go to some of the most incredible photographic sites and professional hands-on training anywhere.

Coming in at number 42 on the top 75 list, NPPE's blog explores National Parks, along with sharing photography tips and product reviews. Their latest blog entry, Tech Notes From the Field: Using Filters for Photography, explores the two kinds of ND filters: fixed and variable. Coming up next month, Samy's Photo School presents two NPPE workshops: First, Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument Photography Expedition with Bob Killen and NPPE [caption id="attachment_4893" align="aligncenter" width="640"] Source: http://bit.ly/2w9az8T[/caption] In the Grand Staircase-Escalante you will gain a new, and intimate awareness of the geological forces that depict the immensity and intimacy of time. This master class will emphasize workflows and capture techniques to escape the literal and to capture and create images with visions that exceed documentation and narration. We will create visual navigation; images that allow your viewers to exceed story and discover their own emotional range. The range of Grand Scenics, Intimate Compositions, and Sculptural Detail is breathtaking; cathedrals of stone decorated with ribbons of water; slot canyons capable of shifting light and our personal vision, and sweeping canyon overlooks that embrace light refracting from abstract entrada stonework. We will learn to employ a workflow in capture and post to achieve a Scripture of Light and create images that navigate time with marking or marching in place. Such diversity provides an ample training ground to Master Landscape Photography in a land that is still the first morning of creation. And, Kings Canyon National Park Photography Expedition with Bob Killen and NPPE. [caption id="attachment_4894" align="aligncenter" width="640"] Source: http://bit.ly/2xU8oKO[/caption] We will launch our Kings Canyon Masterclass Workshop along the King’s Canyon Scenic Byway because there is an undeniable magnetism about a place called Road’s End, an enticing moniker that designates the terminus point of this famous Highway. It’s snaking, winding pavement reaches an end 6 miles past Cedar Grove Village, where the wilderness begins. We will explore overlooks, such as Junction View, and develop grand scenic skills while immersing ourselves in this land of giant peaks, giant trees, and giant formations. As our Master Class Workshop progresses, we will take short hikes, and complete assignments at Grizzly Falls, Zumwalt Meadow, Sheep Creek Cascade, and more. These various assignments provide a broad range of creative interpretation opportunities, and there will be significant periods of post-production training so that students can see their work come alive with unique techniques and workflows. And of course, your Master Class learning doesn’t stop here; we will follow you home with our online follow-up classes to help you retain all that you have learned. Congrats again to NPPE!
