#WeddingWednesday: 6 Things That Should be in Your Honeymoon Photography Kit

February 22, 2017  |  by Samy's Camera
So, the vows have been exchanged, the cake has been cut and the guests have gone home. The only thing left to do is to board a plane and jet off to your dream honeymoon destination of choice. So long Pinterest boards and gone are the days of chasing vendor quotes; after roughly 15 months of stress and anticipation, the happy couple can finally relax on some island, resort, or wherever suits your honeymoon fancy. Let’s see, plane tickets were bought ages ago. Hotel rooms are paid in full. Even fun excursions like zip lining and museum tours have been booked. However, there is bound to be one thing that couples overlook time and time again. And, (*gasp*) it's often just how said couple will be capturing this once-in-a-lifetime trip. [caption id="attachment_3971" align="aligncenter" width="640"] Credit: Andreas Ronnigen[/caption] In my humble opinion, one of the most important things that should be accompanying the happily wedded couple is a compact photography kit. The kit, depending on where a couple will be travelling and what shenanigans will be had, should include about a handful of selected items that are both versatile and reliable. Luckily, for all you 2017 better-halves to be, we’re here to help guide you, with a budget in mind of course, through this vetting process. Here are (roughly) six things that should be in your honeymoon photography kit.

Memory Cards & Gear

Memory Cards w/cases
Yes, the little plastic cases are necessary. Have at least three cards in case you are shooting RAW or are just taking that many pictures. If you are not planning to scan through the pictures at the end of each night and transfer to a computer or hard drive, bring more. Check out our memory card store here.
DJI Osmo Mobile Gimbal Stabilizer for Smartphones
Capture memories and share life’s moments more easily and more cinematically than ever with the DJI Osmo Mobile. It turns your smartphone into a smart motion camera, making every moment you shoot look smooth, professional and ready to share. That means, if you have decided to go with a cash registry instead of a traditional wedding registry, like Appy Couple, couples can be gifted cash or even gift cards issued by VISA, Mastercard, and the like. There are even honeymoon registries, like Honey Fund, where family and friends can chip in towards the big trip. This way, couples have tremendous freedom to shop, either in-store or online, however they choose; even if they want to utilize part of their cash wedding or honeymoon fund to invest in a photography kit. When the happy couple returns back home, don't forget to drop by Samy's Camera to get all those beautiful photos printed and bound in a photo book. Get all the details here. Happy travels are ahead!
